(M.A.R. Renovation & Repair):

My name is Mark Routhier, and I am a contractor who provides renovation and repair services in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I do a little bit of everything from small repairs to larger renovations, such as kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks and much more.

Most of my business comes from repeat customers and referrals, and I take pride in the fact that I have built strong working relationships with my existing clients over the years. A lot of my services are for local Non-profit, Co-operative, and Condominium Housing Corporations, and I do a lot of work for private landlords and private homeowners as well.

My original background is in architecture and I studied Architectural Technology at Algonquin College from 1999-2002. After college, I worked for an architect and a condo developer, where I worked on projects such as custom homes, commercial plazas, and condo apartment buildings. Through that experience, I developed extensive knowledge in design and construction, building codes, construction drawings, permits, and much more.

In 2005, I returned to my family contracting roots and launched my own business, “Mark A. Routhier Renovation and Repair”. In the years that followed, I developed many renovation and repair skills. Today, combined with my architectural background, I now can offer my clients a wide range of services, ranging from basic design and construction advice for projects, to small repairs and larger renovations.

I’m an independent contractor, and sometimes I work alone, but most of the time I work as part of a two-person team, with my good friend Rob Stevenson. We do most of the work on our projects ourselves as a team, but we work with other expert trades and subcontractors as needed on a project-by-project basis too.

About Robert Stevenson from Rob’s Renos & Repairs:
Robert Stevenson has worked in the local construction industry since 2001 after graduating from Algonquin college with an Architectural Technician diploma. Rob has experience in New Home Construction, Renovations, and Disaster Restoration, as well as experience with Home Repairs and Maintenance.

Rob got his start while working as a helper for his father, an experienced carpenter, during the summers throughout high school and college. Since then, Rob has developed skills in many aspects of construction and renovations, in both a hands-on and administrative role.

Rob and I first met in 1999 in the architectural program at Algonquin College and have been good friends ever since. We both have a lot of hands-on and administrative experience in the Ottawa renovation and construction industry and we both come from families with a lot of experience in the industry as well. So, we have a lot in common and collaborate well together on a project-by-project basis.
